FloridaDisaster.org - An informational site developed by the Florida Department of Community Affairs and the Emergency Management Division. The site contains extensive information on emergency preparedness, including disaster resistant construction techniques, community disaster preparedness, and links to other helpful resources.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) - FEMA - a former independent agency that became part of the new Department of Homeland Security in March 2003 - is tasked with responding to, planning for, recovering from and mitigating against disasters.

American Red Cross - An informative site that provides information concerning disaster preparedness, disaster safety and what to do after a disaster. The American Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs with the core of the disaster relief given as assistance to individuals and families affected by disaster to enable them to resume their normal daily activities independently.

National Weather Service office - NWR broadcasts National Weather Service warnings, watches, forecasts and other hazard information 24 hours a day.
